Since the Frommers.com homepage was busy with several features and highlights, doing something different with the Hot Spot was essential in order to bring it to the forefront. A symbol of some sort or something abstract was often chosen. In some cases, where a symbol could not be found, a landmark was chosen and modified to appear in a different environment.
For the January 2007 Hot Spot, the Sydney Opera House was placed in a more surreal composition.
The sky was created with the cloud filter and airbrush tool in Photoshop. The water was a modified
photo of a pond with perspective and the zig zag filter.
