DVDatabase is an intranet site used by Kerwin to keep track of his DVD collection.
Since DVDs have so many data categories, it made for a great Coldfusion/database practice
project.
The design is a combination of art and technology. The top navigational
interface looks like a single object visually, but it's actually a table with several
graphics cut up and scripted elements blended in. There's a JavaScript/Coldfusion search
form under the title and the graphic to the right rotates randomly. The brushed steel
look and negative text (light color on dark) were inspired by DVD player designs. The
background resembles binary code strings made popular by the Matrix movies.
