When a business already has an existing logo and is ready for a Web presence, it's
typical to simply throw the logo on a background color and build a blocky looking
corporate site around it. 38th Avenue Realty's Website is an extension of the
logo. The house shape has its right side extended to form a top navigational interface.
On some interior pages, there's a left navigation bar that follows the base of the house
logo. This Website has Kerwin's typical sculptural approach to its design. The
top navigation and footer have a wood texture applied and the shading of the edges give
them a slight 3-D beveled look. Visually, they look like wooden pieces on top of a piece
of paper (the body). The section tabs are a little more 3-D than the interface they rest
on. And the active tab is the highest 3-D object. Making the Website look like a 3-D
object instead of a flat computer window stimulates the subconscious desire to touch (or
click). Related: 38th Avenue Realty Logo |
